Amy and Shuya’s Drake Devonshire wedding was my first as a Prince Edward County Wedding Photographer after moving here last year. It was exactly the type of wedding I envisioned when deciding to move here!
First of all, Amy and Shuya are just the sweetest, kindest couple. I loved their easy-going personalized approach to their wedding day. They opted for a small, early spring brunch wedding with 40 of their closest family and friends. The day featured a waterfront ceremony, three course brunch, and post-wedding sunset photos at the Sandbanks dunes.
The Drake Devonshire was the perfect venue to capture that unique County vibe and Heather of Bow Tied With Love created a relaxed mini destination wedding. The entire day was romantic, joyful and fun without any moments of stress that can sometimes accompany a wedding.
One of my favourite personal touches was their pre-ceremony vows. I absolutely love the idea of taking a moment before the ceremony to privately share some special vows. The emotional photos were some of the most memorable of the day!
My favourite part of the day was the Sandbanks sunset bride and groom photo session!
A traditional wedding day schedule usually has limited portrait time with less than perfect lighting and confined to a location near the main venue. Since Amy and Shuya’s brunch reception ended in the afternoon, we had plenty of time to travel to the Dunes Beach at Sandbanks Provincial Park just at the perfect time just before sunset!
Sandbanks and the Dunes are definitely my favorite place to shoot in Prince Edward County. They look great at all times of the year, which made them a perfect choice for this mid-April wedding. Of course it also helped that Amy and Shuya lucked out with a perfectly warm, sunny spring day!
