Intimate Kingston Ontario Wedding

Jenika and Jack’s downtown Kingston wedding was relaxed, simple and untraditional, and I loved everything about it!

I’ve always had a special affinity for intimate weddings and elopements. In fact when my husband and I got married we chose to have a tiny wedding with only 12 of our closest family members present. I love how intimate weddings allow couples to create a unique celebration that focusses on what’s most important to them. It creates such a romantic fun day without any of the stress that a more traditional wedding often brings.

Jenika and Jack planned their wedding while living in her hometown of Vancouver. I’m always excited when I get an inquiry from a west coast bride. Being from Victoria BC myself, it’s always fun to reminisce and we always seem to just click! Jenika and Jack got married in his hometown of Kingston Ontario since it’s where they first met and fell and love. This allowed them to get married at the sweetest sentimental spot, in a park right outside of the house where Jack’s grandmother lived for 40 years. Jack’s sister, who’s also one of Jenika’s best friends, officiated the ceremony.

Jenika and Jack got ready with their families at the coolest converted church hotel which was the perfect mix of modern and old world charm. After a quick first look, we all headed off to the park where their families watched them say their vows surrounded by late summer flowers. They even came prepared with champagne for a celebratory toast after the ceremony!

This was my first time photographing a Kingston wedding, and I had so much fun finding the perfect spots for photos. Kingston is such a picturesque town and I love the European vibe of all the heritage buildings. After we finished exploring downtown together, Jenika and Jack headed to their favourite local brewery for a casual celebration with their family, and ended the night with dinner at a local restaurant. I can’t wait to photograph more beautiful Kingston weddings in the future!
