Santorini Anniversary Session | Vanessa and Hernando

This trip made me wish I was a full time Santorini wedding photographer! After we shot Sharon and Achilleas’ wedding in Greece, my husband Dave had a few extra free days so we travelled to the beautiful island of Santorini! We spent most of our time in the picturesque town of Oia, which is just a magical place and basically feels like living in a postcard. I splurged a bit and rented the cutest little cave house airbnb with the most amazing view of the ocean. We spent our time just exploring the town, trying different restaurants, then relaxing on our balcony with a glass of wine. I wasn’t planning to do any work on this part of our trip, but as soon as I saw this scenery I knew I couldn’t resist doing at least one portrait session while I was there! The iconic blue churches set against the cute white cave houses, impressive cliffs and turquoise waters feels you’ve stepped into a dream.

Luckily I met the sweetest couple, Vanessa and Hernando, a young Colombian couple living in the United States. I found out they were were travelling around Europe to celebrate their first wedding anniversary and wanted to do a photo session. We ended up having to do the session during the hottest part of the day, and it’s seriously hot in Greece! Like 45 degrees C. We could barely manage to stay out in the sun for half an hour and were seriously sweating, but Vanessa still ended up looking stunning! I also found out she used to be a model, and it showed! Despite the heat, we had so much fun exploring the town together. Oia is the type of town you definitely just want to get lost in! If anyone needs a Santorini wedding photographer, I would love to go back anytime ;)
